A new program, titled the Small Business Gas Grant Program, has been unveiled by PECO and offers up to $500 to small businesses towards their gas bill. According to PECO, the grants are on a first come, first serve basis and any company under 25 employees can apply. According to the article, other requirements include "a business must be an existing PECO natural gas customer prior to March 31, 2020 with an account in the name of the business, be on PECO’s GC (Gas Commercial Service) rate, and are required to attest to having experienced a financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic." (Rovins, 2021).
In our research, we have only focused on residential assistance. Commercial assistance is likely out of the scope of our project, but occasionally looking into it might be useful. I would be curious to see a comparison of PECO's budget on commercial vs residential assistance
