Critical Commentary

This article discusses Pennsylvania's tentative plan to price carbon emissions. If this move is successful, Wolf's administration would succeed in making Pennsylvania the first state to adopt similar measures. That said, such a move is also a significant headway into dismantling the long-standing fossil-fuel-based industry that continuesto have a hold on Pennsylvania's energy and utility market. As a matter of fact, fossil fuel investors and Republicans controlling the Pennsylvania legislature are working against Wolf's attempts. Whether or not this is successful will be seen in the near future.
