Critical Commentary
This question asks respondents who responded “yes” to Question #26 from the Winter 2020 survey, “Did you have these technologies before COVID-19 or did you have to purchase or borrow them in the last 4-8 weeks?” The options were “No, some of these technologies needed to be purchased”; “No, we have borrowed some of these technologies”; “No, we have not been able to acquire the necessary technologies”; and “Yes, we had everything we needed.”
There were sixty-five responses to this question.
Eighteen respondents (27.7%) said they had everything they needed.
Sixteen respondents (24.6%) said they needed to purchase some technology.
Twenty-six respondents (40%) had borrowed some technology.
One respondent (1.5%) had not been able to purchase the technology needed.
Seven respondents (10.7%) answered “other.”
The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey - Overview, which was administered to 83 people over a fourteen week period between December 2020 and March 2021.
