This chart reflects responses to Question #51 from the Spring 2020 and Winter 2020 surveys, which asked, “I'm going to read a list of gender identities and you tell me which best apply(ies) to you. Feel free to select multiple answers.” The structured responses were:

One hundred and sixty-eight respondents answered this question. Ninety-five respondents answered female. Twelve respondents answered female; cisgender. Thirty-seven respondents answered male. Twenty respondents answered male; cisgender. One respondent answered transgender and an identity not listed above. Two respondents answered “prefer not to say.” One respondent answered cisgender.
The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey, which has been administered to 169 people over two time periods. The Spring 2020 survey was administered to 86 people between May and June, and the Winter 2020 survey was administered to 83 people between December 2020 and March 2021.
