Critical Commentary
This chart reflects responses to Question #32a from the Winter 2020 survey, which asked, “If yes to Q32, what kind of utility bills, including internet bills, are you struggling to pay?” The options available were “electric”; “gas”; “internet”; “electricity”; “phone”; “all of the above”; “none of the above”; and “I don’t know.”
Forty-eight respondents answered this question. Nineteen respondents reported struggling to pay their electric bill. Eight respondents reported struggling to pay their water bills. Five respondents were struggling to pay the internet bill. Fifteen respondents were struggling to pay gas. One respondent was struggling to pay their phone bill. Fifteen respondents reported to all of the above. Eight were struggling to pay none of the above. One respondent did not know.
The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey - Overview, which was administered to 85 people over a fourteen week period between December 2020 and March 2021.
