“Energy Minister John Peter Amewu has noted that the energy sector of the Ghanaian economy is going through reforms in order to perform optimally under internationally best practice, build and improve the capacity of the various players and also to strengthen private sector participation”. Some of these reforms include prioritizing the implementation of projects that would ensure efficiency in the transmission of energy as well as improving systems, and replacing old and inefficient equipment in the power distribution chain. A 330/161KV auto transformer was also commissioned by the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) and the Sunon Asogli Energy to help ensure efficient transfer of power from points of generation to load centers.
