This chart reflects responses to Question #25 from the Spring 2020 and Winter 2020 surveys and Question #25 from the Spring 2021 survey which asked respondents “Does someone in your household pay any of the following utility bills?” The available options were.

234 respondents answered this question.

• 233 respondents (99.6%) answered that someone in their house pays an electric bill. 

• 198 respondents (85%) answered that someone in their house pays a gas bill.

• 217 respondents (92.7%) answered they had someone in their house pay an internet bill. 

• 187 respondents (79.92%) answered that someone in their house pays a water bill.

• Eleven respondents (4.7%) answered that someone in their house pays an oil bill.

• Eight respondents (3.4%) stated that all their bills are included in rent.

• Fifty-nine respondents (25.2%) stated that someone in their home pays a phone bill (only in Spring 2021)

• Seven respondents (3%) mentioned other.

• Two respondents (0.9%) did not know. 

The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey, which has been administered to 234 people over two time periods. The Spring 2020 survey was administered to 86 people between May and June, and the Winter 2020 survey was administered to 83 people between December 2020 and March 2021 The Spring 2021 survey was administered to 65 people between March 2021 and June 2021.
