Critical Commentary
This video shows energy byproducts like fuel and garbage create pollution in the environment that cause injustices towards groups along SES and racial boundaries. This incinerator in Chester, PA is a case of environmental racism because the people of Chester are enduring a disproportionate level of burden form energy consumption. This artifact is close to home and shows that these disruptions and impacts happen to individuals in Philadelphia area too. Advocates and grassroots groups are required to mobilize around their wellbeing and preserve their safety to support justice in energy disposal that causes pollution and impacts people on the local and global levels. By sharing this resource about environmental racism and pollution it shows the byproducts of energy consumption cause a different kind of vulnerability, regarding health and viability of life choices and circumstances, denigrating individual lives from the collective publics choice to consumer such a large amount of energy resources.
