This chart reflects responses to Question #51 from the Spring 2020 and Winter 2020 surveys and Question #46 from the Spring 2021 survey which states “I’m going to read a list of gender identities and you tell me which best apply(ies) to you. Feel free to select multiple answers:” Two hundred and thirty-three respondents answered this question.

One hundred and fifty-four (66.1%) answered female.
Thirteen respondents (5.6%) answered female; cisgender.
Forty-three respondents (18.5%) answered male.
Twenty respondents (8.6%) answered male; cisgender.
One respondent (0.4%) answered transgender and an identity not listed above.
Two respondents (0.8%) answered “prefer not to say.”
One respondent (0.4%) answered cisgender.
The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey, which has been administered to 234 people over two time periods. The Spring 2020 survey was administered to 86 people between May and June, and the Winter 2020 survey was administered to 83 people between December 2020 and March 2021 The Spring 2021 survey was administered to 65 people between March 2021 and June 2021.
