The chart here reflects answers collected from question #15a of the Winter 2020 survey, which asked: “If yes to Q15, what did you do when you lost heat?” This question did not have structured responses.
From the 44 responses collected for this question the following was collected:
3 respondents said they used layers (covers, blankets, clothes, etc);
2 respondents said they sealed off cracks or drafts;
4 respondents did other things, like using their gas stove (2), talking about how long it had been (1), or trying to fix it themselves (1);
13 respondents bought or used space heaters;
24 respondents called someone (landlord, repair man, company, etc.) to fix it;
3 respondents stayed at someone else’s place;
3 respondents said they waited it out;
1 respondent said they didn’t remember.
