This chart reflects answers collected from Question #5a from the Winter 2020 survey which asked: If no to Q5, how and why has your living situation changed. For example, did your living situation change because of government directed shelter-in-place orders? Or did you need to help take care of someone in a different household?” This was an open-ended question and no structured response were prepared.

A total of 4 respondents answered this question; answers may add up to more than 4. Data collected are shown below:

  • 2 respondents said they moved because of pandemic-related hardships

  • 2 respondents cite a combination of reasons for their move (including expiry of leases, issues with roommates, COVID-19 related safety actions)

  • 1 respondent moved because of the structural deficiencies in their old home

The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey - Overview, which was administered to 83 people over a fourteen week period between December 2020 and March 2021. Visit the Winter 2020 Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 - Survey Results page to view more data from our survey. The project is approved by Drexel’s IRB.
