Critical Commentary

This brief announcement by the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) was sent out to New Jersey residents to give a rough time frame on restorations of power. However, the BPU also notes there may be varying degrees of timeliness due to the severity of the storm and the fallen trees. Readin this brief announcement we could think of communication practices on the part of authorities, risk communication, and other related degrees of intervention post-calamities. Disaster research here should come in heavily, as we are now dealing with both slow and fast disasters.
