Critical Commentary

This chart reflects answers collected from Question #10a on the Spring 2020 survey, which asked: “If yes to Q10, how many hours per week (estimated) is your household working from home?” Forty-nine respondents answered this question. For household cumulative estimated work hours worked from home: 

  • 19 respondents noted their household worked more than 60 hours per week from home;

  •  5 respondents noted their household worked more than 50 hours per week from home; 

  • 4 respondents noted their household worked more than 40 hours per week from home; 

  • 7 respondents noted their household worked between 31-40 hours per week from home; 

  • 1 respondent noted noted their household worked between 21-30 hours per week from home; 

  • 5 respondents noted their household worked between 11-20 hours per week from home; 

  • 3 respondents noted their household worked between 5-10 hours per week from home; 

  • 1 respondent noted their household was not working from home; 

  • 3 respondents noted their household’s hours from home were not fixed.

The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey - Overview, which was administered to 86 people over a six week period in May-June 2020.
