Critical Commentary
This chart reflects answers collected from question #9a from the Spring2020 and Winter 2020 surveys that asked: “How many hours per week are you working? Is this more, less, or the same than before COVID-19? Is this remote work?”
A total of 96 respondents answered this question. The following was collected:
8 respondents were not working at that time
12 respondents worked up to 20 hours a week, all of them noting this was less than before the pandemic
10 respondents were working between 21 and 30 hours a week
42 respondents noted they worked between 31 and 40 hours a week, remote
12 respondents noted working more than 41 hours a week
3 respondents did not have fixed hours
1 respondent said their hours increased slightly but did not give a total number of weekly hours
1 respondent said they now work three days instead of five, but did not give a total number of weekly hours
1 respondent noted they were working full time prior to going onto disability
The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey, which has been administered to 169 people over two time periods. The Spring 2020 survey was administered to 86 people between May and June, and the Winter 2020 survey was administered to 83 people between December 2020 and March 2021.
