Of the 82 respondents who answered this question, the following was collected: 

  • 20 respondents cited forced air cooling (central air)

  • 39 respondents only used window unit(s)

    • 2 of which also opened their windows

  • 3 respondents used fans

    • 1 of also said they opened their windows

  • 19 respondents used both window units and fans

  • 3 respondents said they opened their windows.

  • 1 respondent practices intermittent cooling in their home.

  • No respondent noted going outside to cool.

  • No respondent said they did not cool their home during the summer months.

The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey - Overview, which was administered to 83 people over a fourteen week period between December 2020 and March 2021.
