My name is Jasmine Singh (she/her). I’m currently in my third year at Drexel University for a B.S. in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. My course work and academic research has focused on three key areas of political science: the American Legal and Criminal Justice Systems, Development and Underdevelopment in the Global South, and Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods in Political Science. Specifically, the research I’m interested in and try to bring awareness to are strong state sponsored violence or oppression such as Islamaphobia and the Sikh Genocide of 1984. I'm also interested in the importance of religion and ethnicity for immigrant communities as well as the Punjabi Sikh community as a religious, ethnic and racial minority. By working on this project, I have learned about the salience of energy rights and literacy for marginalized communities. I’m excited and honored to be working on the Energy Rights Project as a research assistant!
