Critical Commentary

The expansion of grids to meet zero-carbon futures will place heavy burdens on grid operators. European experts posit that in the next 10-15 years we will need AI to take over some of that managing work. Currently, grids are inadequate and small pilot AI programs are being tested to isolate hospitals and other top-priority infrastructures in the case of grid failures.
