This document presents one of the initial interviews conducted with members of the Philadelphia community who have participated in workshops throughout the Summer of 2021. In this interview, we see how certain households are very familiar with the process of energy assistance and filing application, also being aware of the limitations of the income guidelines. We also see how this household reached out to utilities to settle their difficulties with bill payment and to question utilities when they could not understand their bill. In this interview, the uncertainties of qualifying and receiving assistance also emerge, where the interviewee tells us about the anxiety that surrounds the whole process.
