Critical Commentary

This chart reflects results from Question 25 on the Spring 2020 survey, which asks “On a scale of 1-5, how energy efficient do you think your home is?” This was a check-all-that-apply question, and there were 84 responses. The pre-structured options for this question were as follows:

  • 1, my home is very energy inefficient
  • 2, my home is not very energy efficient
  • 3, my home is OK
  • 4, my home is fairly energy efficient
  • 5, my home is very energy efficient

The most common option selected was “3, my home is OK”, with 47 individuals choosing this option. Fifteen individuals chose “2, my home is not very energy efficient”, and 16 individuals chose “4, my home is fairly energy efficient”. Six individuals chose “5, my home is very energy efficient”, and four individuals chose “1, my home is very energy inefficient”. It’s important to note that some individuals selected multiple options within the same response.

The data was produced by the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 Survey - Overview, which was administered to 86 people over a six week period in May-June 2020. Visit the Shifting Energy Demands in COVID-19 - Survey Results page to view more data from our survey. The project is approved by Drexel’s IRB.
