Meg Snead, Acting Secretary of the Department of Human Resources in Pennsylvania, has recently advocated for Pennsylvania residents to take advantage of ERAP - a newly created assistance program designed to assist households face the fallout from the COVID-19 financial hardships. ERAP was created after COVID-19 relief-allocations were consolidated and distributed to the state, this funding being in addition to rental assistance provided by the United States. Under this new assistance fund, households will have 12 months of available assistance following application, when eligible. However, as the Acting Secretary states, the funds are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis and it is imperitive that families and households who need it apply promptly. Also to keep in mind are the eligibility criteria set-out specifically for ERAP.
