Critical Commentary

This article explores the creation of faculty backed relief funds targetted towards helping cash strapped college students pay off debt accrued from day to day expenses and utility bills.

The primary example included the FAST Fund created by faculty of Milwaukee Area Technical College, where over 100 students have benefitted in the past two years, of whom 23 were saved from evictions related to non-payment of utility bills.
